Greek & Latin New Testament Audio

by pastorjuhl ~ February 5th, 2010

A gentleman by the name of John Simon from Austin, TX has recorded the Greek New Testament read in Greek and Latin. The mp3 files are free. Visit his website here. He’s recording the Hebrew Old Testament right now. 29 chapters of Genesis are finished.

Just be aware: This man is an Arian. Probably a JW, but there's no reference to any specific affiliation on his site. He denies the deity of Christ in an article on John 1:1 on that site.

FYI – I have taken all of his MP3s, properly tagged them into two albums (one for Greek, one for Latin, sorted in chapter order, and normalized the audio volume level (which can vary greatly from track to track). The result is something that works very well in an iPod. I listen to it all the time while driving.

Anyone interested can email me, and I will put them up in a place for you to download: martin at diers dot us.

Also, FYI, he uses modern Greek pronunciation. This is what the Eastern Orthodox churches do today. It actually works very well, but expect some odd looks if you start reciting around your brethren who know NT Greek.
