Nota Bene: These Advent sermons are printed here in the traditional, liturgical order of the antiphons: O Wisdom, O Adonai, O Root of Jesse, etc. Four of the sermons are based on the Sunday Gospels. The other three are based on various texts that are fitting for three mid-week Advent sermons. Preachers who wish to use these sermons will need to adjust the order accordingly. Of course, the corresponding stanza(s) of the hymn, “Oh Come, Oh Come, Emmanuel,” should be sung as part of the service. Continue reading
